I wanted to take a moment to give a brief synopsis of our latest informational meeting. Over the past several weeks the elders and staff have reached out to members and regular attenders to seek input and answer questions. Overall the feedback from the congregation has been very positive.
The staff have met with electricians, HVAC companies, roofing companies and a variety of other professionals about up-fitting the building. Our hope was the total cost would come under $300,000 and based on the quotes that we have received we should come in right at $300,000.
As for the rooted for renewal capital campaign, Scott informed us that from the 9 or 10 pledge cards that he has received as of Sept 28th, we have $282,500 toward the $500,000 Dec. 15th goal and we have $265,000 toward the $900,000 goal. These are very encouraging numbers and as Scott reminded us we are off to a great start.
This Sunday October 7th, Michael and Daniel will be leading a tour through the 908 Westover Terrace facility at 1:30 p.m. We are hoping all of you will take this opportunity to walk through the facility. The tour begins at the outside playground.
We would ask that everyone continue to pray for God to either continue to open doors or close doors over the next month. If you have not already returned your pledge cards, please either use the online form at rootedforrenewal.com or place your card in the box on the information table. You can also give your card to Scott North directly.
The elders will meet on October 29th to assess where we are in regards to pledges and make a recommendation to either purchase the facility or to walk away. We will email the recommendation to you by October 31st so you will have time to prayerfully consider it. We will have a congregational meeting immediately following the worship service on November 4th to vote yes or no on the elder’s recommendation.
We are excited about the possibility this new location affords us to continue our vision of spiritual, social and cultural renewal. If you have any questions, please let me or any of other elders know.
